January 7, 2022

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Daniel B. & Florence E. Green Foundation and Firstrust Bank are now accepting submissions for the 53rd annual Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program. College-bound high school seniors are invited to compete for academic scholarships totaling $180,000.

“The Green Family Foundation and Firstrust are excited to continue to support regional high school students as they pursue higher education,” said Richard J. Green, Trustee of the Foundation and Chairman and CEO of Firstrust. “The Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program is built on the legacy of my grandfather, Firstrust’s Founder, who was a staunch believer in encouraging students to pursue their education and fulfill their dreams. And for 53 years, we’ve been helping students in the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley regions do just that. It’s an honor to uphold his legacy and to assist those who are committed to using their education to make a substantial impact in their community.”

Eligible to apply for the Samuel A. Green Scholarship are high school graduating seniors from a public, private, parochial or charter school, or a home-schooled student or technical school graduate and GED recipient, who plans to attend a four-year, not-for-profit, accredited college or a community college. The Samuel A. Green Scholarship is available only to legal United States residents or citizens living or attending school within the Greater Philadelphia or Lehigh Valley areas. Applicants already attending college or who are at least 30 years old as of March 6, 2022, will not be considered.

Scholars will receive a one-year award ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 toward their first year of college. Those attending community college are eligible to receive awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

Employees, officers or directors of the Green Family Foundation or Firstrust Bank, its subsidiaries, affiliates, donors, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies, family members (defined as spouses, children, parents, siblings and in-laws) or persons living in the household of any of the above, or anyone who may become an employee of the Green Family Foundation or Firstrust or such subsidiaries, affiliates, donors, distributors, and advertising and promotion agencies after submitting their application are not eligible to apply.
